Altcoin

Altcoin is a term used to describe all cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. The name is a combination of "alternative" and "coin." Altcoins include a wide variety of cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum, Ripple (XRP), Litecoin, and many others. They were developed to address perceived limitations of Bitcoin and to offer additional features or improvements, such as faster transaction times, more privacy, or different consensus mechanisms. Each altcoin operates on its own underlying technology and can serve different purposes within the digital economy.

Factors contributing to altseason can include technological advancements, new project developments, or shifts in market sentiment.
